What is Abandoned.Place?

Use the Urbex Map to discover abandoned and derelict locations near you, or explore the globe by viewing decaying locations across the world. Share your abandoned discoveries by adding your own locations to the map, enabling you to share your Urbex story and show off your best Urbex photos.

How Do I Find Abandoned Locations?

Scroll through the map to view abandoned locations across the world. To find abandoned locations in your area, click on the icon to zoom in to your current location.

The Pin Search icon searches for added location names (locations that have already been added to the Urbex Map)

The Find Address icon searches for a named address, town or city, which will enable you to explore a certain area.

You can zoom in or out, and scroll through the map to find abandoned sites wherever you are.

What Does ⭐ The Symbol On Certain Locations Mean?

Abandoned Places with a ⭐ are Verified Locations- meaning they have been checked for accuracy. Verified locations may also have had their description and other content edited and/or updated by Abandoned.Place- meaning the location and information given are trustworthy. Whilst all user-submitted locations are vettied by Abandoned.Place, Verifed Locations ⭐ have been checked more vigorously. Note that a location being Verified does not necessarily mean it is on public land, or it is accessible- see “Can I Visit The Locations Displayed On The Urbex Map” for more info.

How do I add an Abandoned Location to the map?

Use the plus icon in the top right corner. Give your location a title and click on the map to set the pin marker. You can add further details about the location, such as any history you may have discovered, tips on how to find it, whether it is legally accessible (ticketed/on public land/viewable from public land). You can also upload a photo. Locations are then reviewed by us, and are generally live on the map within a few hours.

Can I visit the locations displayed on the Urbex Map?

Abandoned.Place does not condone any entry to these locations other than after seeking owner’s permission, or through other legal access (some locations are in publicly accessible land, others are sites that tickets can be purchased for entry). This site is intended only to highlight these locations, for you to view them online, or you wish to, view from the outside on public or legally accessable land. Always be aware of your local laws, and ensure you stay within the law if you decide to Urban Explore. Follow the Urbex rule of “Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints.” Always do your own research.
